The blog page is a nice little summary of stories from around the country that gives a little detail and insight into the type of places and people that are involved in this movement. The web page is a great example of how a few people got together with an idea, and went to work. the story of stuff is a website that, well, as the home page states ‘story of stuff--From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.’ The site is interactive as Annie Leonard talks us threw a well and simply animated video to help keep the audience entertained and in doing so has us sending the link to friends. the information is well thought out and put together in a package that takes a hold of you. pay attention to the video as it is an amazing example of how the simplicity of something can speak volumes. With several other pages to click threw to its easy to get lost for a few hours reading and searching all the links the site makes referrance to. Also, , there a videos, and other media related things that you can purchase. In all, I like, the website in that is tells a great story, majority unknown im sure, and really drives home the point that there is an issue and something needs to be done soon. |
